From Silence into Stillness

You may have heard of or participated in a Silent Retreat at some point in your life. In this Retreat, we will take the experience of silence and expand it into stillness. If you are new to silence, to stillness and/or meditation, you will have the opportunity to participate in an hour long Guided Introduction to Stillness and Meditation session at the beginning of the retreat as well as a second one following lunch . Furthermore, Simone will be available to assist with any questions or processing experiences throughout the day.

Stillness has become one of the most sought-after experiences in our over-booked and busy lives. The healing effects of intentional stillness have been well documented beyond the experience of the students who practiced at our studio.

Simone Yeomans, PhD, MS, LMFT has practiced Meditative Stillness for more than 40 years before opening her SY-Your Stillness studio. She has studied and practiced Jungian and Depth Psychology for almost 20 years and draws from a wealth of expertise about the map of both the conscious and the subconscious minds through her practice as a psychotherapist, her extensive study of world literature, her close work with healers across the world across different traditions, and last but not least her own intentional healing journey.

When? May 13th, 2023, 9am to 4:30pm (check-in time is 8:30am)

Where? TBD, West Lafayette, IN 47906

Cost? $89 (includes light snacks in the morning and afternoon)

What to bring? Your beautiful self, a bottle of water and a sack lunch, a pillow and blanket (if desired)

What to expect? After a brief check-in, you will be guided through a short, guided meditation to center your awareness from your body toward initial silence and into stillness itself where you will remain for the rest of the retreat. Plenty of time for integration is available toward the end. You will likely experience an expanded, centered, grounded and present sense of yourself. Creative inspirations will continue to ripple their effects into the days or even weeks following this retreat.

Teens and Students - Stillness for Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

Stillness for Mental and Emotional Wellbeing helps you experience the profound healing effects the ancient practice of stillness has on emotional, mental and even physical health. This retreat invites the wisdom of your mind, your emotions and your body to transform less desirable mental and emotional patterns. You will learn to tap into enjoyable feelings to gain a sense of confidence, balance and control.

What to bring: A sense of acceptance, a blanket and a bottle of water.

What to expect: You will start with a gentle movement on the yoga mat before learning where and how emotions get locked in the body, how to alleviate stress and anxiety related to school/work/relationships or other areas of your life. With specific techniques you will learn to relax the mind and the body, and tap into enjoyable feelings to regain a sense of confidence and control.
